With regard to the announcement on the homepage regarding international junior events are CS also intending to send representatives to the World Youth in Greece and the U16 Olympiad in Turkey?

Folks,

Mark down the 15th September in your calendar for a great day out at a new event on the beautiful island of Arran. For anyone unfamiliar with transportation, trains run direct from Glasgow Central to the quayside at Ardrossan for the scenic one hour crossing to Brodick. The playing hall is approximately five hundred metres walk along the sea front from the ferry terminal with public transport also running from the terminal and stopping at the venue. Tournament round times set to welcome all travellers. Bring your camera!

Robin.

Ayr Congress this weekend and entries so far are disappointing to say the least. If you can or know anyone else requiring a wee push to enter please do, or it may not exist next year.

Pairings and results will be found here.

Players will once again be able to enter up to noon on Friday 22nd June, but if you enter early by midnight of Friday 1st June you will be entered into a Prize Draw to win half price entry for a calendar year at my congress events.

  Shamkovich simul, Edinburgh 1978
Posted by: Alan McGowan - 20-04-2018, 02:30 PM - Forum: General Chess Chat - No Replies

Does anyone have the detailed results of the Shamkovich simul held at Adam House, Edinburgh on Wednesday, January 18 1978?

I cannot find a report in Scottish Chess or the BCM and Craig Pritchett's Glasgow Herald column of 21 January 1978 only mentioned that the GM scored 67%. Among those playing were Orr, Upton, Norris, Condie and Geoff Chandler (the last named was unable to provide full results).
