Can anyone enlighten me about the Scotsman Trophy for the Scottish Schools' Team Championship?
The competition began in 1967 and the early winners were:-
1967-68 Boroughmuir
1968-69 Allan Glen's
1969-70 Boroughmuir
1970-71 ?
1971-72 Ayr Academy
1972-73 Ayr Academy
1973-74 Madras College
Can anyone add the names and years of other winners? Did the competition fold?
I note a 2016 comment in the Forum by Mike Scott that he thought the trophy might be at James Gillespie's High School, which suggests that things had come to a halt. It looks like Andy Muir was involved in a restarted competition.
Thanks for any help.

This coming weekend we have a Friday night blitz and a Saturday allegro at the Dean in Edinburgh, live boards abound there in both events.
On the Sunday we have 2 Allegro events, spoiling you we are, a return to Dundee, live boards there too, and the return of an Allegro in Dumfries, definitely no live board shenanigans there.
Edinburgh Allegro results and pairing sites are here and here. Dumfries Allegro site for the same is here.
Please support the events.

Ayr returns from this Friday for most of the entrants, 4 places left at time of writing.
Late fee applies now.
Usual sites for pairing, results and tables are here, and no ads or cookies, here.
I believe 26 live boards will be in operation this weekend so lots for those not entering to look at over the 5 rounds.
See you there.

The last round of sncl this Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
The AGM will start sometime after 2:00 p.m. depending on how long the games take. I am hoping to hand over to Thor for the team lightning as close to 3: 00pm as we can manage. As far as I am aware teams can sign up on the day
ut you can also let Thor know before Sunday if you wish. Other than that I know nothing!!
Thanks for a lovely season it's great to be back. If you really lucky the SNCL chess dogs may make a . return visit
