The 2nd Elite Armageddon Championships

Following the success of the 1st Elite Armageddon Championships over the Easter Weekend, there is another event organised for Friday 28th - Sunday 30th June.

For those a little confused by the format, the first four games are normal time controls and are CS rated - similar to any other congress. Players are then grouped into small sections of 4, based on their score. In these sections players play "armageddon games" in a semi-final and final or 3rd/4th playoff to determine their final position.

The recent US chess champs was decided by an Armageddon game playoff. See:
