Chess For Chas - Sunday 7th April Updated Total

We are running a Charity Allegro on Sunday coming in aid of CHAS at St Margret's Church Hall in Airdrie. All entry fees and canteen profits are going to the charity. This means I am expecting you to eat Mikes cooking Sad. I am hoping to raise £500 from the event.

Currently have 21 entries over the 2 Adult and 1 Junior event and have also received donations from people who are not playing which are gratefully received.

Entries are accepted up to the start of play so there is still time if you want to play.

Now up to 38 players! Still time to enter. If you are going to enter on the day please please can you arrive early Big Grin registration is at 10:00 aim to start at 10:30 but may be late. I have had several offers of raffle prizes for a raffle so will get tickets today for that. If anyone has any donations, please bring along.

Going to have a silly competition as well. Guess the number of draws! 50p to enter, winner takes 50% , the other 50% goes to charityBig Grin

We raised a massive £940 today for CHAS!

Can I please take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated, played and helped in any way. Some of the donations we had were quite staggering!

I'd also like to thank, St Margarets Hall for the let. Peter and Anne Woods of Chess Suppliers for the trophies, Chess Scotland for grading the event, the players for being there and especially Michael, Fiona, Morven, Phil, Jacqui and Linda for your invaluable help.

I apologize if I have missed anyone.

£940.......a fantastic sum of money raised for a very deserving cause =)

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising and running the event and a special big 'Thank You' to Andy. It was a great day which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

I have some fantastic news

Dell have agreed to match the amount raised and have the mechanism there for me to be able to claim for gift aid on the amount.

If I have done my maths correctly, that takes us to a staggering £2,256!!!!!!!!!!!
