Good result and nice win from Keti, a good example of technique.

Let's not deviate too much from the topic now guys. I'm not saying it is but it's looking like it might. Best to start another topic if you want to discuss Jacob's nationality etc further. Big Grin

Great to see Scotland performing well on all fronts! =)

Looks like another win for the team, even when resting Colin.

Looked like Alan could have been worse after 27.b4? Nice catch at the end with g3 to win.

Good result. Nice-looking win for John: I used the final position as a 'why did Black resign' exercise in the club I was coaching. They got the answer.

Good win indeed. Actually,on the live boards it was originally given as 3-1, with Graham gaining an advantage and grinding out a win by move 40. Then the result was mysteriously re-set to a draw after 17 moves. What happened and did I imagine all of these extra moves?

Hi Alastair.

You must have logged onto the Thessaloniki Olympiad site from 1988.

Graham did win in 40 moves. Well Played.

Alan's board froze for me on move 47 after he moved. Is the result correct? Alan lost?

Very good win by Colin and for a time it looked good for Scotland againhst their higher-graded opponents - Keti was better, Alan was equal and Graham came back from the dead to a fairly level position. Sadly small endgame inaccuracies were severely punished in all three games, with Alan finally losing on move 80.

However a good result today for the girls/women/ladies today.

Full of admiration for Colin's Endgame Magic. Befitting this year's British Solving Champion!

Also a nice example of John's killer instinct: I saw 39...Nxg3 but not the full follow-up... Yet, at that stage John had just over 3 minutes left. What with Alan and Graham suitably efficient, this was a satisfying win today.
