Largs Viking Congress 22nd-24th June
The last congress of the season will soon be upon us at Largs, and all the latest news can be found in this thread.

Entry form and latest entrants will be available shortly on the Congress Event Page on the Chess Scotland Website, and the details of the accommodation available at our venue will be updated here in the next couple of days.

Players will once again be able to enter up to noon on Friday 22nd June, but if you enter early by midnight of Friday 1st June you will be entered into a Prize Draw to win half price entry for a calendar year at my congress events.
There are double points on offer in the Masters Grand Prix at Largs which means it is still all to play for in each of our sections, latest standings are as follows:

1st Stephen McQuillan (11)
2nd Ian Marks (9.5)
3rd Nicolas Skettos (8)
4th = Rosie Giulian, Alan Jelfs & Derek McCormack (6.5)

1st William Clinton (13)
2nd Keith Aitchison (7.5)
3rd Frankie Murray (6)
4th Robert Gibb (5.5)
5th Joseph Watson-McFie (4)

Ist Graham Wilson (9.5)
2nd = Walter Pearson & Dave Watson (8.5)
4th = Derek Coope, Allan Buchan & Ananth Subramaniam (6.5)
The venue offers twin rooms with en-suite & wet room, all of which are wheelchair accessible, for £74 PN B&B (single occupancy £55 PN B&B). To book please phone 01475 674666 and state your participation in the chess congress. You can check the rooms out on the Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre website. Please book early to avoid disappointment!
There will be 15 people entered into the prize draw which will take place before Round 3 on Saturday 23rd June.

The congress will once again be taking place on the same weekend as the Largs Live Festival, which has a wide range of music acts performing at venues across Largs, so there will be plenty of entertainment away from the chess board.
A quick reminder that we are again offering a Replica Lewis Chessmen Set to the best junior at this year's congress. This prize is open to all juniors 16 years of age and younger that have not won the Best Junior Prize at previous Largs Viking Congresses.
Just over 50 hours left to get an entry in this year.

Draws and results will be posted on the internet HERE.

Also, in case it escaped your notice, it is not FIDE rated so an influx of those to whom that is important seems still to materialise, we live in hope.

An opportunity for practice before Championships coming up could also be an advantage.
Round 1 draw now available. As the venue has the Chess Scotland web site blocked there will be few, if any, updates on this thread.

We shall try to indicate when the draws are available.
Round 2 draw available. Round 3 draw available around 2:30, hopefully.
Round 3 results and round 4 draws now available.
All results now available.
