Why doesn't the viewer work on iPads? Does it use Flash, in which case Apple doesn't allow on this device. I also read that Adobe are no longer going to support Flash on new mobile devices.
http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/read...le/iOS+FAQ Flash-based content cannot be viewed in Adobe Reader Mobile. Adobe Reader only supports viewing PDF documents. There is no Flash player for the iPad or iPhone.

Yes it is a flash object. Typical of Apple still being in the 19th century I'm afraid

I just checked and it is there. Try hitting F5?
