I don't want this issue turning into something more difficult than it has to be.
As far as I am aware (and others I have spoken to) there is a rule regarding grading/board order. If this has been changed then please tell us why, when and on whose authority?
It's really very simple - either we follow the rules laid down by ChessScotland for their competitions, or we have to be told they are changing, why they are being changed and see that they are changed properly, with the input of ALL interested parties, in accordance with the correct procedures (e.g. motion at AGM or whatever).
Also, the FIDE rating issue has to be addressed - we were under the impression that our semi-final was being FIDE -rated, but you say it's not. Is there a financial disincentive? A work-load issue? As the premier team event in Scotland, with the best time-control in the entire chess calendar, these games should be FIDE-rated.
