I would argue that the AGM is the most important meeting of the year for those not on the Management Board to interact with those who are.
The most important chess tournament in Scotland each year is the Scottish Championship.
I hope you will agree that the Scottish Championship should not be online and that you will commit to next year's AGM to be in person too.
I sympathise with those who have a long way to travel or are unhealthy.
You and I have both travelled to Hastings so long distance is possible.
Options are hybrid meetings and proxy voting.
The resignations of Alan Tate and Ian Brownlee and the unfilled posts are not encouraging.
The juniors are doing well but an ageing adult team (three of the recent European Team players were record holders!)  is also concerning.
The sponsorship gap between Scotland and England is also an issue.

There is no intention to have the Scottish as an online event.
It is not up to me to commit to any format for the AGM but my experience of hybrid is not good.  The recent ECF meeting was a bit of a disaster. It is too easy with hybrid to only concentrate on one section of the audience ignoring those present or ignoring those on screen.

Why have proxy voting?  The current system allows people to vote for themselves, surely that is more democratic?  Proxy voting allowed people to 'harvest' votes for their own issues so were more of a popularity (or even who could pressurise the most people) contest than a true reflection of what people wanted.

Vacancies are always a concern.  However, these are being worked on.

Finding funding is a major problem - but it is one we can all work on.
Anyone knowing of a potential sponsor should contact one of the Executive in the first instance, though this needs to be a bit more than "Have you thought of ..."
