In 2018 there are a number of pinnacle events in Europe where Scotland receive funded places from the organisers and I assume we will be represented.

These include....

World Youth in Greece
World Cadets in Spain
Euroyouth in Latvia
Jugendschach in Austria
EU youth in Czech Republic
U16 Olympiad in Turkey

In the UK, amongst others we have...

Liverpool Quadrangular
Primary Individual
Glorney Cup

That seems a lot of work for one person.
