Yes2Chess 2015
#2
I sent the following e-mail message to the Yes2Chess people regarding the possibility of secondary school pupils becoming involved :

Hi is there any possibility that this initiative will be extended to include secondary schools? It's just that there is a big drop off in young people playing chess once they leave primary school and anything to promote chess to teenagers would be most welcome. Best wishes, Linda

I received a very prompt reply :

Hello Linda,
Thanks for your e-mail.
The reason that this is restricted to eight countries, and to primary schools, is because that is what the sponsoring company wants to be involved with.
If a secondary school wishes to register for friendly games, then that's permitted.
Regards,
Alex

I am now looking into getting the pupils in our school club involved in some online friendly games which I think will be a great experience for them Smile
