My comments were made specifically about the practicality, or otherwise...

Well it's not about being practical, it's about doing what you love doing. If you enjoy going running/walking; enjoy playing Chess; and enjoy visiting relatives, it's no hassle to undertake all in one weekend - at least I don't think so.
