After many discussions with friends and colleagues about possible issues in CS, I was asked to stand for the post of President by Chris Hampton of Pentland Hills Chess Club. After careful consideration I agreed to do so. After speaking with my friends, Ian Brownlee of Lanark Chess Club agreed to propose me for the position of President
