Augsburg\Hastings - Calum MacQueen - 28-12-2012

Hi all,

Just a few words to say that I am at a tournament in Germany while a few Scots, such as Clement and Alan Grant, are down at Hastings.

First round lost to a 2260 from a very good position but then had this game vs GM Skembris. Probably losing for me at some point but pretty unclear mostly. I was white.

Re: Augsburg\Hastings - Calum MacQueen - 02-01-2013

update:

went on a pretty poor run and castled queenside (0-0-0) although I was very close to cleaning out GM Schmittedeil. In the end he outplayed me and won deservedly. On the plus side, just served an FM below. I was black

Checking the Hastings game in spare time, seems solid performances for our guys. Steve Mannion had a pretty wild game vs Vocaturo, as did Alan Grant vs someone I can't remember.

Happy New Year all!

Re: Augsburg\Hastings - Andrew McHarg - 02-01-2013

NIce one Calum. What you on now? Any chances for any norms?

Re: Augsburg\Hastings - Calum MacQueen - 02-01-2013

Cheers Andrew. Nah, norm is out the window this time around, only on 3/7 but need 6.5/9, 7/10 or 8/10 for a norm. There is a Belgian FM who retired recently and he's tearing up the place, he's got a huge chance to make one but it's him alone.

Re: Augsburg\Hastings - amuir - 03-01-2013

steve mannion is playing well at hastings

Live commentary at www.livestream.com/leylandchess Given by GM Chris Ward.

A win for Steve today would give realistic norm chances
