Perhaps, I spoke too soon, we seem to have 12 moves from Toure vs Dutta, N, but not a lot else.  Not looking good for scotland in that one (if the position is correct) but I guess France should be a very tough match for the Gilbert side.

We now have some pairings on chess-results. France are not as strong as I would expected in the Glorney, so I would have thought Scotland have a chance.

It looks liek we now have a position for Jake

Looks like his opponent has sufficient compensation for a pawn (move 21 Rf3) but Black seems OK

Using Chrome now and I can get all the games.  Scotland seem to be doing OK in the Glorney.  Board 5 looks crucial to me, that could go either way.

Jonathan is now a safe pawn up on 5, but I think the other games have taken a turn for the worse

Move 28 from Sanger.  I don't think he was expecting that.

Awesome win from Jake in round 2 too, he is having a stormer

RE: Glorney Gilbert - Ireland 2019 - Matthew Turner - 23-07-2019

There appears to be very much a two tier Glorney this year with France, England and the Netherlands well ahead and Ireland, Scotland and Wales battling for 4th place (the exception is the Gilbert where Netherlands appears to be not so strong). Scotland have Wales this morning so it is crucial that they get a good result.

Congratulations to all the players, you have done Scotland proud Smile .
I followed the games of the glorney boys live to some extent and was impressed with the level of play from all the players in all the games. There are going to be some big grade increases this season from these guys - I’d put money on it

I am incredibly proud to have been with the squad in Dublin.
The points scored do not reflect the time and effort every single player gave in every game. The coaches did a great job as well
The girls were at a disadvantage from the start as out board 1 took ill and was unable to travel..a full report will follow shortly
