Chess Scotland is starting a fundraising exercise to buy some new sensory boards for use in tournaments. All sections, from Minor to Open, will get the use of these boards. Discussion on the topic can be found here.

2017 Scottish Schools Team Chess Championships

February 2nd, 2017

The 2017 Scottish Schools Team Chess Championships will take place on Sunday the 12th of March, in Broughton High School Assembly Hall, Edinburgh.

The event will have a secondary school, a P7 and under and a P5 and under Championships. All schools throughout Scotland can enter

Three players will make up the teams in each section, although schools can use a squad system if they wish. However, schools can enter as many teams as they wish and with only three players needed for a team, we would encourage as many as possible to play as many games as possible

P5 and under players can play in the P7 and under Championships if they prefer

All sections will be run on either a swiss system of round pairings or an all-play-all event, depending on the number of entries for the section.

There is ample car parking in and around the venue and we hope to be able to offer refreshments and snacks, in conjunction with the school PTA.

For further information and to enter, please see the Chess Scotland calendar and the Championships entry form.
