Sensory Board Donation

Chess Scotland is starting a fundraising exercise to buy some new sensory boards for use in tournaments. All sections, from Minor to Open, will get the use of these boards. Discussion on the topic can be found here.

42nd Team Lightning 2017

Twenty-one teams took part in the 2017 Scottish Team Lightning Championship on Sunday 26 March, once again a good entry and an increase on last year. The event was again held after the conclusion of the SNCL at the new Dunfermline venue. The number of last minute entries again made it difficult to organise, but this is inevitable given the arrangements and the timing has certainly increased the numbers. “Normal service” was resumed as Hamilton flattened the opposition to win by a large margin – the largest since 1986. Last year’s winners, Bon Accord, took part but with a much weaker team, finishing as runners-up in Section 2. Report by Ken Stewart (more…)
