Sensory Board Donation

Chess Scotland is starting a fundraising exercise to buy some new sensory boards for use in tournaments. All sections, from Minor to Open, will get the use of these boards. Discussion on the topic can be found here.


The SJCAET Educational Trust supports young Scottish players, and is a tax-efficient medium for donations to aid the development of Junior Chess. For more details please visit

Hamilton International Blitz and challenge match

December 17th, 2016

International Xmas Blitz.

9 rounds 4 mins plus 2 secs per move

Thursday 29th December, starting at 7pm in Bothwell Bowling Club, Station Road, Bothwell ( usual premises)

Members of Elche Chess Club ( Spain) will be Hamilton’s guests in this event.

Entry Fee £5, prizes based on total entry, Max 50.

Based on 30 entries, prizes would be:

1st £35 plus new chess clock, 2nd £25, 3rd £20, plus two grading prizes of £20, plus a free mince pie each.

Entries to and pay on the day, exact money please.

Hamilton Chess Club will be playing a match against Elche Chess Club ( Spain ) at our home premises on Tuesday 27th December, with play from 2pm – 7pm. Spectators are welcome.
