Sensory Board Donation

Chess Scotland is starting a fundraising exercise to buy some new sensory boards for use in tournaments. All sections, from Minor to Open, will get the use of these boards. Discussion on the topic can be found here.


The SJCAET Educational Trust supports young Scottish players, and is a tax-efficient medium for donations to aid the development of Junior Chess. For more details please visit

Entries are being accepted now for the 2016-2017 season of the Scottish National League.

Round 1 and 2: October 30th

Round 3 and 4: November 27th

Round 5 and 6: February 26th,

Round 7: March 26th.

Changes this year. Initial time control is 40 moves in 90 minutes (in line with FIDE regulations, previously was 30 moves). Division 2 will join Division 1 in being FIDE rated. NB: Please make sure all your players in these divisions have a FIDE ID before turning up to play.
