A good win for Edinburgh today, as David Oswald moves onto an excellent 2/2. West had a much tougher draw, but Jonathan Grant's having a cracking tournament so far.

Great stuff from Edinburgh today, an important win against the team ranked directly below. Special mention to Chris Sykes getting his European campaign off the mark with a quick win against higher rated opposition. What seemed a close match was surely never in doubt though, as our board 4 had forced the queens off early and spent the rest of the game slowly bringing home his and the teams advantage. Just a typical day at the office from Oz.....
Heroic effort from West yesterday and the scoreline today certainly flattered their opponents. As Hugh mentioned, Jonathan Grant looks to be in terrific form.
14th seeds for Edinburgh tomorrow which will be a tough match. They've looked a bit ropey so far though so there's definitely a chance for some big results!

Good Luck!

Two victories today against what on paper looked evenly matched teams. Well done everyone! Jonathan, David and Chris doing particularly well but everyone rowing in with valuable points. Keep it going guys.

Jonathan Grant must be close to a 7 round IM norm if that is possible

I think it was possible two years ago, when Calum MacQueen came within a round of it - or so we certainly thought - so I'd presume it's doable. Jonathan's having an excellent tournament (helped by a bizarre performance from his opponent today); I'll let someone who knows more about this sort of stuff than me say whether it's on or not.

Nice to see Edinburgh securing victory in the latest edition of the Celtic Cup.
