Andy Howie Wrote:[pgn]f4 e6 g4 Qh4[/pgn]

Works nicely

I can quote Andy's post verbatim.

Then delete g4 insert g3 & he still plays Qh4 dropping his queen =)

Does this mean that anyone posting a whole game asking "where did I go wrong" is likely to get a few swift replies; costing minimal time to the respondent ??

This section of the new board gets better and better.

George Thomson Wrote:Excellent this has the potential to make the Scottish Chess magazine redundant. All the interesting games can just be posted on here.

I think it's more than just the games - it's the chat in between that make or break the magazine. On that point, I enjoyed the report on the Czech Open - someone who knows how to use an apostrophe...and the strength of character to ignore all possible puns using the word "Czech".

I saw that, very surprising miss from a 2700 player.

I guess his excuse would be having 3 minutes left and lots of pressure, but still...!

I think we should put down the ground rules.

No posting games without the names of the players concerened.
(as in the previous post showing the draw from Edinburgh.).

Don't bother about upsetting people by naming them.
The moment they push a pawn the game belongs to the planet.

What comes around in chess goes around. One week you blunder next week you play a brillo.
(Unless your name is Hugh Brechin then add on more weeks of blundering.)

Every blunder I've ever printed or posted played by someone else has been played by me
in one form or another.
(except of course in some of Hugh Brechin's games whose blunders are totally unique.)

It was not long after you lot voted me player of the year!

à propos the chat regarding the "touch and move" controversy at the World Cup, here is a little gem from the team lightning a few years ago. White accidentally brushed his king whilst meaning to pick up his queen and instantly understood the comedy value.
