World Youth Championships 2018 concluded
The World Youth Chess Championships have concluded in Halkidiki, Greece.
In the U16 Open section, Sambhav Chadha finished on 3.5 with 2 wins and 3 draws. 2 of those draws against 2000-rated players. He had an overall performance rating of 70 points above his current FIDE rating.
In the U14 Open section, Jake Sanger finished on 5.0 including 3 wins and 4 draws. This included a draw against Konstantin Popov FM (rated 2304) and a win against Revivo Shoham Cohen (rated 2289). He had also had an overall performance rating above his current FIDE rating.
Well done both!
In other news, Viktor Gazik IM of Slovakia triumphed in the U18 Open section in a field containing 7 GMs including Kirill Shevchenko.
