The opening ceremony and the first round of the 3rd World Senior Team Chess Championship took place on Tuesday, February 24th.
Scotland has two teams participating in the 50+ section of the event, with the two squads seeded fourth and thirty-fifth out of the forty four teams taking part in the section.

Round 1 starts at 2pm local time tomorrow, 1pm in the UK, with rounds 2 to 9 starting at 9.30am local time, 8.30am UK. There are no rest days in this nine round battle for the title of World Senior Chess Team Champions.
The time control is 90 min/40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game + 30 sec for each move from the first move.
The default time at the start of all rounds is 30 minutes.
