43rd Team Lightning 2018
Twenty-three teams took part in the 2018 Scottish Team Lightning Championship on Sunday 25 March, once again a good entry and an increase on last year. The event was again held after the conclusion of the SNCL at the new Dunfermline venue. As usual, the number of last minute entries again made it difficult to organise, but this is inevitable given the arrangements and the timing seems to be popular.
Once again Hamilton were winners, continuing a sequence with only one gap since 2003. It was much closer than last year, though, with Edinburgh a close second.
For Hamilton Joe Redpath scored 8½/12; Steve Mannion had 11½, Andrew Muir had 11 and Stephen McQuillan had 8.
Final Section 2 was won by Stepps (who were unlucky to lose out on tie-break in their prelim section) on 21/28.
Final Section 3 was won by the junior team Crouching Tigers on 19/24.
Prelim section winners were Edinburgh B, Hamilton A, Dundee A and Edinburgh A.
