Team Lightning 2013
38th Scottish Team Lightning Championship
Twenty two teams took part in the 2013 Scottish Team Lightning Championship at Dunfermline on Sunday 24 March, the biggest entry for a number of years. The event was again held after the conclusion of the SNCL at the Dunfermline venue. The number of last minute entries made it difficult to organise, but this is inevitable given the arrangements and the timing has certainly increased the numbers.
Hamilton were once again winners – for the 10th consecutive time; they were this time undefeated though they drew with the runners-up. The Edinburgh University team ran Hamilton close and finished second just ahead of Dundee who once again came third, partly through only drawing in the last round against Hamilton B.
For the winners Joe Redpath scored 8½/11, Steven Tweedie had 10½, Pat Coffey 9½ and Andrew Muir had 10.
Final Section 2 was won by Edinburgh West with 21½ followed by Dundee B with 19. Final Section 3 was won by the team of SNCL organisers with 16 ahead of Bank of Scotland with 15½.
