SNCL – Final Results – FIDE Grading links added
SNCL is now over for season 2016/17. Before I start, I have to pay tribute to someone. This season has seen the 20th completed season from our esteemed organiser, Glynis Grant. With Glynis' guidance we have seen the league go from strength to strength and we are all indebted to her for such a long period of service.
At the AGM, the dates were set as 29th October, 26th November, 18th February (switching with Perth) and 25th April. Gavin Saxton is stepping down from the Arbiting team and we thank him for his years of service. Joining the team next season is Fiona Petrie.
Time controls are being changed next season to all moves in 90 minutes with a 30 second increment from move 1. To facilitate this, the start time is also being moved to 10am.
Now to the important bit, the results. Congratulations to Edinburgh 1, Inverclyde, Bon Accord and Lenzie Chess Academy in winning their respective divisions. The inaugural Giant Killer prize was won by Benjamin Ridge from Hidden Dragons. A special mention to Marco D'Alessio for being the only player to score a perfect 7 out of 7 on board 1 for Lenzie. Getting 7 out of 7 is pretty good. Getting it on board 1 is special! Congratulations to you all and thanks to all the teams who have made it a pleasure to control this season.
The following are links to the divisions. Please can I ask you to check and let me know if there are any mistakes. FIDE grading will go up post April 1st as it will go into next months grading.
Division 1 FIDE: Champions Edinburgh 1. Runners up, Dundee A. Relegated Forth Valley A & Giffnock & Clarkston
Division 2 FIDE: Champions Inverclyde. Promoted Stepps Warriors. Relegated CSBOS1 & East Kilbride A
Division 3 Champions Bon Accord. Promoted Perth. Relegated Oban and Forth Valley B
Division 4 Champions Lenzie Promoted Paisley.
