PVG – Update of Personal Records
At the Chess Scotland AGM, held on 27th August 2016, it was agreed that a notice would be placed on the CS Website urging all members who have obtained a PVG Scheme Record through CS to update their details if changes have occurred.
Chess Scotland would like to bring the communication below, as announced by Volunteer Scotland in conjunction with Disclosure Scotland, to your attention.
It is the individual’s responsibility to ensure that an accurate record is maintained with regard to their personal information held on PVG Scheme Records.
Although it is for each individual to contact the authorities, it would be much appreciated if any such communication under the Data Cleanse initiative was copied to the Chess Scotland Lead Signatory, Hamish Glen. An email to Hamish's private email address, truhoover@gmail.com would be adequate notification of any decision to withdraw from the PVG scheme membership or to notify a change in contact details.

Data Cleanse
The Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme has now been in operation for over 5 years. Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services are working with Disclosure Scotland in carrying out an exercise in order to:
(1) ensure members’ personal details are up to date, and(2) give those individuals who are no longer carrying out “regulated work” with vulnerable groups (children and/or protected adults) information on how to leave the PVG Scheme if they so wish.
All communication regarding this exercise should be made directly to Disclosure Scotland, please contact their helpdesk on 0300 0200 040 or email them at dsupdate@disclosurescotland.
