Malawi 2019 Results
The Malawi Rapid charity chess event was another great success. The event took place at St Nicholas Church Halls on Saturday November 30.
This year we had a record 75 players participating. The kind generosity of the chess community raised a total of £1410 on the day. Following a kind donation by Peter Smith on behalf of his employer Edrington this will give a total of £4230. I think this is a fantastic amount of money and will make a significant difference to the Malawi Charity.
The results are as follows :
1st= IM Andrew N Greet, Jonathan Mckay, Tommy Barrett 4/5
2nd Mark Sanger 3.5/5.
***
1st= Brian Teaz, Stuart Lampard, Eric MacKinnon, Calum McGillivray 3.5/5.
***
1st= Jainill Vadalia 4.5/5
2nd= Ruairidh MacKay, James Keegan, Ibrahim Khan, Carolina Espinisa Cancino
***
1st Madi Bolat
2nd= Abhi Verma, Aditya Srivastava, Rishab Anthuvan
3rd= Nikunj Nagar, Neev Lukhi, Kanish Dholakia
A special thank you to Peter Smith, John McNicol, Alan Steel, Stephen Taylor, Steve Rivett, Rohith Ittigi, David McClay and all the ladies from St Nicholas Church running the cafeteria.
I would like to thank all the participants for making it such a memorable day.
Iain Fraser ((Congress Director))
