Lanark Simul – December 21
Lanark Chess Club held a fun night to celebrate the life of Tom Brown and would like to thank everyone who helped us raise over £300 on the night which takes Lanark Chess Clubs efforts to over £400. This combined with the amount raised during his memorial takes the fundfaising to about £2000 thus far. Again special thanks to all including the donor of the prizes, as well as Pat Coffrey and Michael Hanley who contributed so much on the night. All in all it was a tremendous success and we all enjoyed ourselves. Finally thanks to those who also brought refreshments which was very much appreciated as well as those who sent donations via post.

Preview: Lanark Chess Club will be hosting a fun night on Monday 21st December 2015 which will take the form of a simultaneous display by Patrick Coffey of Hamilton Chess Club.
Entry fees for those which wish to participate will be £5 and any donations will be gratefully received. All monies raised will go to Lochaber Mountain Rescue.
The simul should commence at 7.15pm sharp. There will be refreshments available. It is intended that the fun night will be a celebration of Tom’s life and we at Lanark Chess Club to like to share that experience with all of Tom’s chess friends over the years.
If anyone wishes to play, please contact Ian Brownlee on ian.brownlee@systemsit.co.uk or by telephone number 07899 832770.
Lanark club venue: The Tolbooth, 4 High Street, Lanark ML11 7EX
The prizes for the best games, laughs, blunders etc will be in the form of chess books kindly donated by an anonymous benefactor and the games will be judged by Patrick. We at Lanark Chess Club would like to thank you all for your kind comments over the last few months.
