Junior Home Board – Dec 2019

Dec 12: Apologies for the delay in posting this update, and thank you for returning me to the junior director position.

Now that the Liverpool Quadrangular has finished, I can turn attention to forming a new home board for the coming year.

Thank you to those who filled home board positions last year, and I would be very pleased to welcome you onto the board again this year.

I am looking for volunteers interested in becoming more involved with driving our junior agenda forward.

The board aims to meet 3-6 times per year, the first meeting preferably being face to face, in early February, subsequent meeting can be dial ins (tbc once board approved).

I am keen moving forward to get away from a ‘top heavy’ board filled with directors. Instead I am looking for about 8-10 people to be part of the board. If you are interested and fit any of the following, or even if you don’t fit one but are interested, please email me to register your interest by 31 December 2019.

I am looking for a range of people form the following-

Junior chess organisers/coaches from all parts of the country (e.g. NEJCA/LJC/West of Scotland)

Parents of active juniors with an interest in, and suggestions for, improving opportunities for all juniors

Juniors over the age of 16 who may have an interest in being involved and can give their input on what they think we should be doing.

If you would like to be involved please email me, stating your role/position/interest,

If you need more information please feel free to email me

Fiona Petrie
