Glorney Feedback
Jurriaan Kien – France Head of Delegation. Fri 20th July.
On behalf of the French team thanks a lot for his wonderful tournament.
We would have loved to visit the Highlands a bit more, but chess has taken 100% of our energy and for the Highlands we will have to come back soon!
Thanks also to the Dutch Team that clearly raised the level and will allow us to work harder to get at least some of the cups back that they are currently holding...

Nate Weersing – England Head of Delegation. Thu 19th July.
Many thanks for all your efforts and high quality work to make this tournament a big success. You have represented Scotland well. Our delegation was happy with the tournament and most have expressed an interest to play again if selected. Congratulations to the Dutch on raising the bar for the competing teams, which should help attract strong teams from all our delegations.

Ricardo Catalan – Netherlands Head of Delegation. Thu 19th July
It was a pleasure to meet you all and to return to this tournament which has such a rich history and tradition. To Ian and Jim I would like to say that the entire Dutch team is extremely grateful for all you have done for our team. We could not have entered the competition without our support and we appreciate the extra mile that you went for us.
We look forward to seeing you all in Ireland!

Desmond Beatty - Irish Chess Union Head of Delegation. Sat 21st July
The weekend and I can now draw breath.....
On behalf of the Irish Chess Union, I would like to convey a big “go raibh maith agaibh” to you and your team in Chess Scotland for hosting the Glorney Gilbert International 2018. The Irish players and supporters had a wonderful experience for which we are most grateful.
It was great to see the event return to 6 nations even if the two returnees did take the spoils. Their return injects fresh impetus to this robust and popular event and requires us four anchor tenants to up our games which can be no bad thing.
We look forward to seeing everybody in Ireland for next year's edition.

Ian Eustis - Wales Head of Delegation & Glorney Secretary. Sat 21st July
Many thanks for all the hard work that you and Ian Brownlee and others did to make the Glorney Gilbert tournament a success. Now that it is all over, you can heave a huge sigh of relief and enjoy the rest of the summer.

President
