FM Alan Tate is 2014 Scottish Champion & GM Deep Sengupta is Commonwealth Champion

FM Alan Tate is the 2014 Scottish Champion, beating fellow Scots at the Commonwealth Championship by 0.5 points. Alan is one those who have won the title more than once, a great achievement.
In the Open, GM Deep Sengupta shared first place with IM Chithambaram Aravindh but Deep was announced as Commonwealth Champion on tie break.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
134 votes were cast by members for this year's Player of the Year. Votes were spread across 11 candidates but IM Roddy M McKay emerged as the popular winner. Roddy is the latest in a list of illustrious previous winners.
Roddy's prize was presented by Bharat Singh, Chairman, Commonwealth Chess Association and Hamish Glen, President, Chess Scotland.
