Dublin IM Tournament
IM Steve Burns-Mannion and FM Alan Tate were Scotland's representatives in an International Master Norm Tournament from 26–30 August 2011 in the Metro Airport Hotel in Dublin.
The tournament was held as part of the 2011 City of Dublin Chess Championships.
Alan Tate scored an unbeaten 5.5/9, Steve Mannion 5.
Preview: "The International Master Norm Tournament is a ten player all-play-all event in which six of Ireland’s strongest players will compete against each other and 2 Scottish and 2 English players. This is one of the highest level International Chess events to take place in the capital. It offers some of Leinster’s Irish Internationals the opportunity to earn a norm towards achieving the title of International Master. In order to achieve a “norm” players require a minimum score of 6½/9 so a fiercely competitive tournament is in prospect with chess of the highest quality envisaged over the course of the event."
