39th Team Lightning
Twenty one teams took part in the 2014 Scottish Team Lightning Championship at Dunfermline on Sunday 30 March, once again a good entry. The event was again held after the conclusion of the SNCL at the Dunfermline venue. The number of last minute entries made it difficult to organise, but this is inevitable given the arrangements and the timing has certainly increased the numbers. Hamilton were once again winners – for the 11th consecutive time. The Edinburgh team ran Hamilton close and won their individual match but dropped points to Dundee and Stepps. Dundee once again came third, just ahead of Stepps.
For the winners Steve Mannion scored 6½/11, Joe Redpath had 10, Pat Coffey 9 and Andrew Muir had 11. Andrew has now played in the winning team on 25 occasions. For Edinburgh, Clement Sreeves scored 6½, Neil Berry 7½, Andrew Green 8½ and Hugh Brechin 10.
Final Section 2 was won by Edinburgh West A with 21½ followed by their B team with 20½.
Final Section 3 was won by Bank of Scotland with 12/16.
