Coronavirus Update — Chess Scotland
All Chess Scotland events currently cancelled, will be reassessed at the end April 2020 at which time the Management Board will convene to discuss the situation.
It is now time to consider what measures are being taken regarding the current events on the Chess Scotland Calendar for March and April.
Junior Events:-
- Scottish Girls Championships 2020..........Postponed - NEJCA
14/03/20 (1-day event) - Evening Express Teams 2020..........Postponed - NEJCA
28/03/20 (1-day event) - East Megafinal..........Postponed - LJC
29/03/20 (1-day event) - Inverness CFK 2020..........Postponed - NEJCA
25/04/20 (1-day event)
Chess Scotland, unfortunate, cannot mandate the various Junior Organisers of the events, but Chess Scotland strongly recommends these events are examined in detail taking into consideration now that the government has entered the ”delay” phase.
Adult Events:-
- Richardson and Spens Semi-Final 2020 Chess Scotland Event – Cancelled
22/03/20 (1-day event) - SNCL 2019-2020 Round 7 Event – Cancelled
29/03/20 (1-day event) - 44th Scottish Team Lightning Team Championships Chess Scotland Event – Cancelled
29/03/20 (1-day event) - Edinburgh Congress 2020 Event – Cancelled
03/04/20 - 05/04/20 (3-day event) - Richardson and Spens Final 2020 Chess Scotland Event – Cancelled
18/04/20 (1-day event) - Lanarkshire League 70th Anniversary Allegro Event – Cancelled
25/04/20 (1-day event)
We need once again must to take into consideration those events which are not organised CS events. At the very least we should contact the various organisers and offering sensible advice/recommendations on behalf of Chess Scotland.
