118th Scottish Championships
What an exciting climax to the 2011 Scottish Chess Championships. At the start of round 9, 4 players had realistic chances of winning the title. They were husband and wife duo Jonathan and Keti Arakhamia Grant, Anthony Dempsey and Clement Sreeves. Indeed those four were the last to finish.
Tony started a half point ahead but had what was regarded as the most difficult opponent in Keti. So it was to prove with Keti winning to take the title as the other pair drew. The other three were joined by Craig Pritchett in second place.
