1st Scottish University Chess Cup

Nine teams met at Dundee University Medical School for the 1 st Scottish University Chess Cup. The event proved to be very strong event indeed, with many of Scotland's top U21's playing. Over the weekend there were many close-fought encounters. After five rounds Edinburgh University A won the event after four wins and a draw.

This event has been a success and I hope that the event continues in the same fashion next year. I would like to thank Michael Roth for being the arbiter over the weekend and Castlehill Chess Club for loaning all the equipment required.

This event has continued the efforts of a number of chess events in Dundee to support the PC Project ( http://www.pcprojectuk.org.uk/ ) with £85 being raised.
