What may be the last 12 board international at Under 14 and Under 12 level between Wales and Scotland was held at the Heronston Hotel, Bridgend on Saturday 26th January. It was an extremely closely fought match which ended in a 13-11 win for the Scotland U14s but the U12s could only draw.
After the morning round the U14s trailed 5˝-6˝ but by early in the second round things were looking much better. The U12s could not maintain their first round lead and despite valiant efforts from Chris Ballard and Charles Jamieson could not win the point necessary from the last two games to win the match.
The hotel had a mixed reception from the players. The swimming pool was a big hit (as was the bowling on Saturday evening) but the food left much to be desired.
