UK Chess Challenge

21st August 2010

by Norman Skillen

Fergus Skillen (11) and Sam Allison (9) battled through three qualifying rounds to make it to the last 62, out of 68,000 children, in this year's Terafinal.

In an extremely competitive environment, and arguably the UK's toughest U18 tournament, both boys remained calm and both won and drew games. Sadly no Scottish champions at Warwick this year, but to have made it to the Terafinal and to compete against English national squad players, is a great achievement in its own right.
