34th Scottish Team Lightning Championship

Grangemouth
December 14, 2008

Fourteen teams took part in the 2008 Scottish Team Lightning Championship at Grangemouth on Sunday 14 December. Although the entry was one more than last year (and might have been 16), it remains disappointing. Hamilton once again dominated the event, dropping a mere 3 points in the first 12 rounds and they had only to avoid disaster in their last round match against Edinburgh West A. The latter were only one point behind until round 12, but then lost to Edinburgh A, leaving them an almost impossible task. The result gave Hamilton success for the sixth successive year (now looking to rival Shettleston's earlier domination of the event) with Edinburgh West once again runners up.

For the winners Steven Tweedie had 10½/13, Joe Redpath had 12, while Pat Coffey had 11 and Andrew Muir had 12½ (and was in the winning team for the 20 th occasion).
