33rd Scottish Team Lightning Championship

Grangemouth
December 9, 2007

Thirteen teams took part in the 2007 Scottish Team Lightning Championship at Grangemouth on Sunday 9 December. Although the entry was two more than last year, it remains disappointing. Hamilton A dominated the event, dropping a mere 2½ points in the 12 rounds and they had only to avoid disaster in their last round match against Edinburgh West A. The result gave Hamilton success for the fifth successive year (now looking to rival Shettleston's earlier domination of the event) with Edinburgh West once again runners up.

For the winners Joe Redpath, Stephen Tweedie had 11/12, while Pat Coffey had 11½ and Andrew Muir had a perfect 12. For Edinburgh West, Craig Pritchett, Jonathan Grant and Neil Farrell all had 9½ while George Neave had 10. Wandering Dragons finished a close third, though assisted by Cathcart's late arrival.
