32nd SCOTTISH

TEAM LIGHTNING CHAMPIONSHIP

(Grangemouth - Sunday 10 December 2006)

by Ken Stewart

Eleven teams took part in the 2006 Scottish Team Lightning Championship at Grangemouth on Sunday 10 December. Despite the disappointing entry the competition was intense and the final margin of victory for Hamilton A was narrow as any victory for Edinburgh West in their last round match against Hamilton would have given them the title. In the end, though a draw gave Hamilton success for the fourth successive year with Edinburgh West once again runners up.

For the winners Stephen Tweedie had 7/10, Joe Redpath a perfect 10, while Pat Coffey and Andrew Muir had 9. For Edinburgh West, Keti Arakhamia-Grant had 8½, Jonathan Grant 7, Craig Pritchett 9 and Neil Farrell 9½. Top scorer on board 1 was Douglas Bryson of Shettleston with 9.
