Grading Report

Edinburgh duo Joe Redpath (14) and David Sime (16) shared the Scottish Boys Championship in Glasgow June 30 - July 2, 2000.
Going into the 5th and last round, 4 players were on 3 points - Redpath, Sime, Duncan Grassie and James Ross. Redpath moved into first equal position with a strongly played win against Grassie, leaving Sime to press an advantage in the ending against James Ross.
In the last game to finish, Sime squeezed the full point in a knight and pawn ending against one of the most improved juniors of the last year.
Redpath and Sime join an illustrious and long standing series of winners since the championship was first contested in 1931.
There were no entries for the Scottish Girls Championship, which was therefore uncontested. The arbiter was Alex McFarlane.
