CISCCON

(Chess in Schools and Communities Conference)
30 August – 1 September 2007, University of Aberdeen

August 13: Chess Scotland supports the Chess in Schools and Communities Conference in Aberdeen (30 August to 1 September) and encourages those interested in the development of schools chess to review the programme and see whether they should consider attending.

CS will be playing its part at the conference. In addition to a keynote speech by Honorary President GM Jonathan Rowson, presentations are also being made by our Schools Development Director Craig Pritchett (with a little assistance from me) and by our International Junior Director Donna Officer and her daughter Amy, who is webmaster for the CS junior website and the sole junior presenter at the conference.

Support during the conference follows on help provided to the conference organisers in the planning stages, and in particular helping with or arranging invitations to some of the other speakers.

Chess Scotland hopes everybody attending the conference and all the Juniors taking part in the associated tournament have a great time!

Donald Wilson

(President, Chess Scotland )
