There may be better or cheaper suppliers but the Edinburgh set pieces were bought from here

They also sell plastic sheet boards, or those interlocking plastic squares if you want a portable option. The pieces themselves are whatever weight you want them to be, as the bases can be screwed on/off and filled with water or sand to add weight.

I was told you can also negotiate a discount if you explain that you are purchasing for community/educational purposes.

Shame we don't have a Grangemouth Congress any longer, would have been good to tie in a visit to the Kelpies with a chess playing weekend.
