..Ke6 Kf8 Ng5 Takes a while, has to be at least 20 moves

Unless I missed something?

I see it now -Kf8 will prolong the game beyond 7 further moves but it is equivalent to resigning. Instead of Ng5 white just plays Kf6 picks up the h6 pawn and wins quickly in 20+ moves.

Looked at this for ages completely baffled. Finally got there, but of course it helps if you realise the black pawn is going down and not up!

put on your board

White Pawn on h6
White king on h7 or h8
Black king on f7

Which I'm sure you'll recognise as a well known drawn ending.

Black wishes to play.

1..Nf8
2 h7 Ng6 Mate.

If Nf8 is check ...it doesn't work because

Knights can't lose a tempo while the white king shuffles between h7 and h8.
Nor can the Black king - can only move between f7 and f8
So half of these are drawn and half are won.

I think the fact that Andy H got this, but Andy B didn't, shows that arbiting improves your endgame.
