Moderators moderated?
#1
Have posts by a moderator been deleted? I thought I saw some earlier today but they seem to have disappeared along with some from a regular contributor.

I removed both. Big Grin I think responding to something that shouldn't have really existed was probably a mistake. 8)

This prompts me to repeat a point I made recently - in the interests of transparency, will moderators please leave a record of the fact of deleting posts and threads, preferably with the reason?

even better , can we have a data chart for each CS member stating how many posts have been deleted ? this would be quite illuminating !

I would suggest the following,
that each member who posts on the forum cannot do so until they have acknowledged the rules for posting on the forum.
Put the rules for the forum into some form that members must acknowledge, by ticking a box saying that they have read the rules. If they they don't tick the box, they cannot post on the forum until having done so.

Council must give the moderators clear unequivical rules for any misconduct that may occur. The rules seems clear, but the punishments for misconduct on the noticeboard are not.

Just some thoughts .

Wouldn't it? I think it would highlight that some people just don't know how to behave on a public forum. Most people have never had any posts removed or deleted.

Please put Phil Thomas back on the noticeboard. He said nothing obscene.

I wonder is it Russia 2013 or Germany 1935?
