We are delighted to announce that we will be encouraging juniors as well. As well as prize money, there will be two keepsake trophies, one for the overall winner and one for the best junior (as judged by Tom Donahue, the arbiter) We are restricted by the premises to 32 entries unless we use downstairs as well. So far the entries are

Jim Smalls, Ian Brownlee, John Tonkin, Jimmy Doyle, John Nicol, James Watson, John Pearson, Phil Thomas and Jim Frame

I would like interested parties to contact me asap using the email ian.brownlee@systemsit.co.uk. or by tel no 07899 832770 daytime or 01555 751420 evening. Lanark Chess Club are hosting the event at Toolbooth in Lanark High Street. Entry fees are the same as last year

Actually Ian
The 12th of August is a Monday this year.

For those that don't know this is a good venue to play chess in,
local chippie is good and there is a Subway in the High Street

And its good to know that I can drive there in daylight, and reduce my speed for the journey home.
