@Andrew McHarg,

Ian Morris was actually asking the reason for dropping the original old 'old' board, example here:

Andy, isn't rather easy for anyone to register & get on here??? bearing in mind all the attempts that have been made in the past on the other board which needed you to activate. Don't get me wrong its good from all CS users point of view to be able to get on so easily but to the wider public? :\

I had totally forgot about that board, it was without a doubt the best. I still don't know why we ever got rid of it.

Jac, it is but unlike the other board it is easy to manage users. I no longer have to trawl through pages and pages just to delete a rogue user

I have no idea, I wasn't playing Chess when that board was in use. Big Grin

There must be more than a possie of "posties" who remember the original noticeboard. My offical boycot of the previous noticeboard must have lasted years, is there anybody else outthere who will now post in this more open system.

Out of interest, why is this board a "more open system"? =)

A more open notice board to the previous one, the original one being being the standard I measure by. I like the idea there are no aliases and open (closed) to registered users only. Perhaps I was wrong.

I thought we were all going to use our real names on this new noticeboard, no nicknames or initials etc. If you wish to post why do it in often (thinly) disguised form? I don't get it.

We are going to be. Everyone has until Saturday to correct their usernames, or I am changing them! :U
