Jim Webster Wrote:Why doesn't the viewer work on iPads? Does it use Flash, in which case Apple doesn't allow on this device. I also read that Adobe are no longer going to support Flash on new mobile devices.

Flash-based content cannot be viewed in Adobe Reader Mobile. Adobe Reader only supports viewing PDF documents. There is no Flash player for the iPad or iPhone.

Hi Jim

We just didn't get round to learning how to do it, sorry. Otherwise it would have been just like 4ncl etc.

As well as the option above, DGT are developing a system that doesn't use flash. We may be testing it at the British.

So I am sure you will be able to view the games on your ipad soon, perhaps we will try it at a congress later in the year.

Regards

Has anyone been able to work out what norm chances there are for the tournament? Or is that something that can only be determined after games have all completed?

Yes, There are 2 players in contention and 8 - 10 just off it. Normally we publish what is needed with 2 rounds to go as the permutations with 3+ hurt the brain!

Andy...It doesn't look like the .PGN download link for Rd.5 is working...

Although there are 2x round 4 the link goes to
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.chessscotland.com/scottishchampionship2012/Games/championshipr52.htm">http://www.chessscotland.com/scottishch ... hipr52.htm</a><!-- m -->

Tried removing the stray '2' to make it this...

but doesn't work either.

Entries to the weekend congress closed on the deadline for entries.

I apologise to any late entry that has been turned away but we have only just been able to accommodate those who entered on time.

The size of the Championship/Open exceeded expectations.

Uploading the draws at the moment, will check to see what is causing this

Cheers

I think the giant-killing prize has already been won... unless someone under 1800 beats GM Ruck or GM Hera.
Young Andrew McCusker has done exceptionally well so far...
